Tim Amess
BDS, PhD, MFDS RCS (Eng)
Tim is the Principal Dentist and owner of Dental Care Centre. Tim took over the Practice in 2005 and has been enjoying the challenges of mixing business and Dentistry. Tim graduated from the University of Bristol with a BDS in 1992 and then went on to complete a PhD in 1996.
Tim has over 25 years experience in the Dental Industry both in the practical side of Dentistry and working in Universities in both New Zealand and England where he lectured and taught clinical skills. Tim enjoys studying and learning new techniques and incorporating them into the services that he can offer his patients. Tim has recently completed the comprehensive Progressive Orthodontics course and is a Master member of Prime Practice.
Tim has been working as a Dentist in Gisborne for over 15 years and has really enjoyed meeting so many interesting and inspiring people.
Tim is an active member of the New Zealand Dental Association and is currently the president of the Gisborne branch.
In his spare time, Tim enjoys hunting, fishing, cycling and spending time with his family at the Beach.
John Partington
BDS, MFDS RCS(Eng)
John rejoined the team at Dental Care Centre in 2010 after 7 years away travelling the world and then working at various remote clinics in Australia.
John trained at and graduated from Guy’s Hospital in London, and worked as a senior house officer in an oral and maxillofacial surgery department before taking post-graduate qualifications. This was followed by 2 years working as a Dentist in Gisborne. After leaving Gisborne, John spent time exploring the rest of New Zealand.
John enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, and enjoys the opportunity to perform these here in Gisborne. He liked the town so much he came back.
In his spare time John enjoys hanging out with his young family, playing golf, and keeps his fingers nimble by playing the ukulele.
Hannah Galloway
BDS
Hannah qualified in 2004, having studied at the Royal London Hospital in the east end of London. After working in the UK for 2 years she moved to Gisborne with her husband and has been here since.
Hannah enjoy working in general practice and meeting a wide range of patients. She gets great satisfaction providing the patient with the knowledge and information needed to make the right treatment decision for them.
Hannah is currently the secretary for the Gisborne branch of the New Zealand Dental Association.
She has two young daughters and enjoys bringing them up in this beautiful part of the country.
Outside of work Hannah keeps busy on the family citrus orchard. She enjoys spending any spare time outdoors and has been known to run half marathons.
